Abi Makes Gloucestershire CCC Squad
Year 12 Collegiate pupil Abi B has been selected for the Gloucestershire Women's Squad; a fantastic achievement!
Abi, who is set to be this year's captain for the Collegiate girls' team, is part of the GCCC Pathway system, and has been chosen as part of their 19-player squad for the upcoming 2026 season.
The all-rounder began playing cricket at age six for Bedminster CC and played her first competitive game for them aged eight. Now, Abi trains practically all year round, with school, club and county training in the winter, as well as matches in the summer.
She said: "I am fortunate to have received support from school, club and county from a young age, and I am looking forward to being part of the Gloucestershire Women's squad and seeing where it leads, alongside continuing both school and club cricket."
Abi cites England legend Nat Scriver- Brunt as a role model, saying: "She is an all-rounder; she makes big scores in major tournaments and keeps calm in high-pressure situations, which is a characteristic that I admire."
Abi has also played for the boys' teams at Collegiate, and has grown up playing club matches alongside her brother, Harry, who is this year's boys' First XI captain.
We look forward to watching Abi's sporting progress in the months and years to come.
