Collegiate School

Safeguarding

At Collegiate School, the safety, wellbeing and protection of every child is our highest priority. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff, volunteers, visitors and contractors to share this commitment.

Our comprehensive Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, which outlines our procedures and responsibilities, is available in the Policies section of our website.

All members of staff undertake annual safeguarding training to ensure they remain informed, vigilant and equipped to support pupils effectively, and safeguarding is embedded throughout school life through PSHE, the chapel programme and our pastoral care systems, helping to create an environment where pupils feel safe, supported and confident to speak up.

In the Senior School, the Designated Safeguarding Lead is Alison Willis, supported by a trained Deputy DSL team, and in the Prep School the Designated Safeguarding Lead is David Edwards, also supported by trained deputies. When a safeguarding or child protection concern is raised, our safeguarding leads work promptly and sensitively with the wider team to ensure appropriate action is taken and, where necessary, liaise with external agencies, including social services and the police to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child.

If you have concerns about the welfare of a student, contact the DSL team on: safeguarding@collegiate.org.uk
